And in all honesty, even though I haven't really sat around thinking about it to much, I kind of believe that people committing adultery maybe should be a jailable offense. Yeah, I believe that their circle of friends ostracizing them is fair and legitimate punishment. Where did I say they should be hung? I said they're shitty people. Calling them "soft and weak" for it is just making excuses for the perpetrator and it's victim blaming. But once a relationship is serious, cheating is a horrible thing to do to someone. My point is that those in that age range should not expect much from their relationship. Many will test the waters with others before breaking up, or they'll even just have something on the side because they are horny college students. You have kids getting outside of their bubble for the first time meeting others their age.
Do you really think most 18-22 year olds are looking for their marriage partner? They are getting into a relationship for companionship, sex, and the other benefits, but most are willing to jump ship pretty quickly and have their eyes open.
I could go on and on for the reasons this happens, but they should be obvious to anyone who went to college at a school that wasn't tiny.
